Hi, I'm Andrea, the owner of ARB Coaching, LLC. In 2009, I made one of the toughest decisions of my life – I left a career that defined me. A place where I had built a solid reputation, climbed the ranks, and was recognized for my achievements. I gave up a huge part of my identity in search of something I couldn’t articulate. Why take such a leap? While trying “to do it all”, I felt I was short-changing everything: neglecting my family by being career-focused AND slacking at work when I cheered from the sidelines at my kids’ sporting events. I felt I was underperforming in all aspects of my life despite looking like I was in full control. My exterior persona - - put together and balanced - - did not match how I felt on the inside - - frazzled and overextended. All the energy I put into my career and parenting left me with no reserve for self-care. Outside of occasional exercise and healthy eating habits, I was not taking the time I needed to refuel my mind and body. I was on autopilot to check off my endless To Do list.
It took me a few years of exploring how to strike the right balance between work, family, and self. Along the way, I learned to shift my outlook and focused on what was most important to me. It wasn't the job title, the accolades. or the end of year bonus that mattered. The missing piece, I discovered, was the feeling that I was living intentionally and in the moment. By taking time for myself, my recharged batteries allowed me greater productivity. My outlook shifted from feeling overwhelmed to seeing opportunities.
My experience propelled me to support women facing their own reboot and led to my pursuit of a career in professional life coaching. I work with others on the path to self-discovery so they, too, can overcome what gets in the way of experiencing greater joy and fulfillment.
I received my professional coach training through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). I earned MSW and MPH degrees from the University of Michigan that served me during my 15+ year consulting career. In my continuous quest for feeling balanced, I enjoy exploring new places, yoga, outdoor pursuits, and quality time with family and friends. I am a fan of Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) - - the Danish practice of comfort and contentment - - and use this in my daily life through simple pleasures such as a perfect cuppa coffee, cozy spaces, and music.
